The dishwasher ProWash option does a fine job getting our dishes clean. Haven't used the ProScrub or HeatDry options yet, except as a test. If we do the load at night, most everything except the tops of some cups, etc. are dry. If we open the door up soon after the ProWash cycle completes, there is more water to dry off. So, the extra hours of sitting after the load is finished seems to help dry the load. Plastic things, such as the silverware rack itself, still has water sitting on the flat areas so one has to be careful not to drip water on the floor when moving the silverware rack to the countertop when putting things away. Evidently plastic doesn't retain the heat so doesn't drip/dry easily in the closed dishwasher. But to save energy we prefer not to use the HeatDry option.

We don't find the top third rack useful. Hard to fit some knives with longer handles. The little "bumps" aren't very high - might be a better design to have some of different heights to rest things against. The rack area isn't deep enough to hold much - even our BBQ thongs or many spatulas and mixing spoons with a bit of a curve in the handle won't fit. We saw some models that had the third rack area divided into two pieces. That was a better design than one large rack on this model. One could use a half-rack and take the other side out. Then taller glasses, etc. could fit in the rack below on the side without the half-rack. Our only option is to take out the one large 3rd rack, which we did with the load last night so the wine glasses and our 10" Corning square skillet could fit without hitting the side wall nor washing arm.

We find odor problems if we keep the door closed between loads. We have started keeping the door ajar to keep it aired out so the odor doesn't bowl us over when we go to load additional dishes between loads.

The handles on our knives won't fit in the silverware slots so we took those off both sides of the silverware rack. A better design would be to have a silveware rack that would separate into two units or be two units. It takes up too much useful space now. Better design to be able to use one smaller rack on some loads so more pots and pans can be put in the leftover space.

The dishwasher is very quiet. We think it is the best feature. We've found work-arounds for the problems we noted above.

If we have the middle rack lowered down we can't load our 10 1/2" Corning Ware dishes without the sprayer arm hitting them.
If the middle rack is in the upper position, the 6 1/4" cereal bowl hits the top of the 3rd rack if placed in the center of the middle, the bowl's most logical place.

Various size wine glasses with stems hit the side of the dishwasher on the left side. The wine glass holders only hold 4 very narrow wine glasses or two red wine glasses.
Having the holder in the down position is good as you can rest more wine glasses against it so the base doesn't hit the side of the dishwasher when sliding the rack in/out. The dishwasher isn't real handy for washing stemmed wine glasses.

May be best to take into the store some of the things you expect to wash and see if they fit - before buying. It is flexible and hold a large load, the racks slide nicely and adjust easily, and it is quiet.

I purchased this dishwasher along with all my new home's Kitchenaid appliances, spending over twelve grand. The only thorn in my side has been the dishwasher. It hasn't worked right since the beginning and apparently, I didn't push hard enough at first when it didn't work properly because it was past the brief year warranty when I decided to stop dealing with the retailer I purchased it from and actually called Kitchenaid. After a non-productive conversation with that representative who basically told me I should be using the Affresh tabs once a month, sometimes two, to keep it running right.
I continued to contact my retailer who then finally replaced the chopper blade (he'd previously replaced the "controller")
But it's still not working right so I finally called Kitchenaid again because the retailer's repair guy is tired of fixing it. Kitchenaid (after 1 hr & 27 minutes on the phone - most of it on hold) the best they'd offer was to provide a part to "fix" it yet again. If this were my company and a product continued to malfunction/break within the first two years of it's lifetime, I would be so embarrassed and apologetic. I simply want my lemon of a dishwasher replaced with another one, same year, same model. I don't want to have to keep fixing it. Or like they offered... pay $288 for a warranty that would get me parts for another year (so I wouldn't have to allot over an hour of my time every few months that it stops working I guess!)
So disgusted with the company's lack of incentive to stand behind this product.

I've only been using this product for a month or so but it's exceeded expectations. Dries well and cleans well. Also, it's made in the USA and that offends liberals! lol.

Don't like the rack design

Comments about KitchenAid 24 Dishwasher with ProScrub® Option - White:

I bought this model (KDTE2014ESS) for it's additional third (top-level) utensil rack for my new home. I previously owned the KUDE70FVSS, which was absolutely wonderful. I am disappointed in the new rack design. the times are so short they cannot securely hold flatware, which was the best feature of the older KUDE model. Moreover, the old model actually ran much quitter than the new one, even though it was rated at 41dBA, versus 46dBA on the new. Disappointed overall in this item. I should have done my research better, but then, why does KitchenAid mess with a good rack design?

Great dishwasher but...

Comments about KitchenAid 24 Dishwasher with ProScrub® Option - White:

I installed it myself and discovered you had to buy a 90 degree compression elbow separately, to hook up the waterline. This part was unavailable by itself but I found one that was included in a dishwasher install kit. So I had to spend another $30 for the kit. Not sure why this part is separate and that nobody mentioned it when I purchased the dishwasher.

Quiet Efficiency

Comments about KitchenAid 24 Dishwasher with ProScrub® Option - White:

We haven't used this much yet but are greatly impressed by how quiet and user friendly it is. After using our previous dishwasher for over 21 years, it took a little while to get used to the inside arrangement and controls. It does so many things it is almost overwhelming. This is an absolutely amazing machine and we are looking forward to using its many features.
