We received this week this new model and after several times using it, it is more versatile than the previous model we had since 8 years. The 2 new elements that offer more watts than the previous model is a bonus and finally, there is more light in the oven so you can clearly see thru the oven window. In convection mode, the fan is very silent. For now, we are not regretting buying this new model over buying the previous generation that is phasing out. The only minus we have for now is that the element control buttons are now plastic, previously they were metallic.

I bought this range 4 months ago from Tasco and was misled by sales associate about oven AquaLift cleaning system. there was cleaning kit and instruction came with the range. The system is completely useless, it does not even remove slightest spills from the oven interior. I have to clean the oven manually kneeling on the floor and scrape off spills and in addition sponge off the water from bottom of the oven. KitchenAid is aware of the problem but they have not done anything to correct the problem. When using broil, or convection or baking features, hot air coming out of the oven, exterior of oven, the baking ware in the storage drawer and adjacent cabinets become extremely hot to touch. I was told by KitchenAid customer service that I should wear mittens while working around oven to avoid burns. The glass top is also difficult to clean and already has several tiny scratches. I am very disappointed to spend more than $2,300.00 and have a such poor quality range that has caused me so much stress. KitchenAid does not take any responsibility and indicates that all are the range specifications.

Not impressed

By Therese

from Neguac

Comments about KitchenAid 6.4 Cu. Ft. Slide-In Electric Convection Range - Stainless Steel:

Just bought this stove; it now sits in the middle of my kitchen. Bought it to replace a dead Jennair due to the downdraft. It is too big for the slot in my countertop; I need to have someone come in a cut the counter top. All different installation of the Jennair; also need to have someone else to come in to install the downdraft system. Did not think would need so much work in changing a stove. Also, I have doubts about the rubber contour of the stove top. This I think is going to be a problem for dirt and germs. Rethinking my purchase and have not even cooked a meal with it.

Extremely disappointed

By Fran

from Mississauga

Comments about KitchenAid 6.4 Cu. Ft. Slide-In Electric Convection Range - Stainless Steel:

We replaced a older slide in convection electric stove with what we thought was the same type. It is awful. The aqua clean system is useless. The oven was as dirty when it finished as it was when I started the cleaning process. I don't want to have to get on my hands and knees to scrub the oven clean. The old stove cooktop was easy to keep clean and always looked nice but this one is more difficult to keep clean, scratches more easily and never looks nice. The true fit is useless also. The new stove did not fit the opening we took the old one out of although they said it was the same size. We had to find and purchase the side trim accessory kit to make it fit. Just a disaster stove. Although we have always bought Kitchenaid appliances, we would not recommend this stove and would definitely not buy another Kitchenaid.

Don't even think about buying this

By Cleo

from Alberta

Comments about KitchenAid 6.4 Cu. Ft. Slide-In Electric Convection Range - Stainless Steel:

I wish I would have found this site before purchasing this range. We moved into a new house Aug 4/16. Since then I've probably used the oven only nine or ten times and I've had to clean it twice. Now when I say clean it, well the first time I had to run the "steam clean" cycle about five times. The last two days I've run it 10 times. Yes, 10 times and used the scrubber in between each cycle. Now I have to say that my oven wasn't even that dirty. I decided to clean it before we have housesitters move in while we are away. It had some greasy spots from when I did a chicken. I am so not impressed with this range especially considering the amount of money I spent purchasing it. In my 61 years this is absolutely the worst ever range that I had. Before moving I had a Whirlpool for the last three years that had a self-cleaning cycle. I don't know why Kitchenaid decided this steam cycle was better because it is NOT. It's the worst way to clean an oven. I only just discovered that one has 60 days to return if they are not satisfied.....well I'm NOT SATISFIED and unfortunately I'm past the 60 day mark. Now I have to try and figure out how to clean the roof of the oven. That should be fun considering the broil heating element is there. If you have any thoughts of buying this range, run away as fast as you can and look at something else. If I could have given zero stars, I would have.

So far, so happy

By Kerry H.

Comments about KitchenAid 6.4 Cu. Ft. Slide-In Electric Convection Range - Stainless Steel:

We're happy with the looks, the intuitive nature of the controls, the size of the oven, and the speed at which the elements heat up. The keypad needs a frequent wipe due to splatters from the frying pan though.

Electric Range -- 700ESS

By R. Smith

from Winnipeg (MB)

Comments about KitchenAid 6.4 Cu. Ft. Slide-In Electric Convection Range - Stainless Steel:

I purchased this range 10 months ago and am extremely unhappy with the product. I live alone and have probably used this range for a total of less than 3 months of use in an average family of four.

The control knobs in the front are easily turned on accidentally by pushing up against them. It's happened on several occasions that an element has been turned on without my knowledge and in once case -- the back element was on high for over four hours before I came back to the kitchen and noticed it was on. Had I gone to bed or left the home, I shudder to think that the wall/surrounding surfaces could have caught fire due to the extreme heat.

Also, the digital pad control for the oven on the front is a pain as it is constantly beeping at the slightest touch and I have to activitate the 'control lock' feature all the time. It is also a nuisance to keep clean and the glass surface is very difficult to clean and has scratched easily, compared to my previous range that was 15 yrs old.

I also miss not having access to an AC outlet on the back of the stove panel. So while the design looks nice, I do not find it very useful and actually find it to be unsafe and do not recommend this for families with children, the elderly, the disabled, shorter individuals, tall individuals -- pretty much anyone.

I have purchased other Kitchen Aid appliances (have a great refrigerator) that I enjoy but am extremely unsatisfied with this range.

I have also already had to call in a service technician to repair a cooling fan issue. Again, this stove has hardly been used in 10 months. I paid for extended warranty but overall, I am not impressed. I want my money back!

One size doesn't fit all

By Vincent

from Montreal, Qc

Comments about KitchenAid 6.4 Cu. Ft. Slide-In Electric Convection Range - Stainless Steel:

I just bought this model for my new place. I primarily picked it because of its suppose fit with the counter. They even mention a "FIT warranty" on the page.

After receiving the oven, I can assess that the oven Doesn't fit, it goes out by about 5 inches from my counter, which is extremely disappointing.

Do not purchase

By AB

from Brampton

Comments about KitchenAid 6.4 Cu. Ft. Slide-In Electric Convection Range - Stainless Steel:

This is not a self-cleaning oven. The Aqualift self cleaning technology is totally useless. After running the program four times and using the kit provided in between cycles, my oven was still not clean. Please note that my oven was not even that dirty initially. To promote this oven as a self cleaning oven is misleading. Do not spend the money on this,it is not worth it.

The slide in looks great. The burners are very quick to heat up though the dots on the cooktop are unattractive.
