Product Overview

Do more in your kitchen than you ever imagined with this amazing 5.8 cu. ft., convection, slide-in, gas range by Samsung. In addition to its professional good looks, this unit’s five-burner cooktop features a dual power burner, which can go from a rapid boil to a gentle simmer in moments. Its generous oven has a true convection system to cook food faster and more evenly, plus its three oven racks means you can cook multiple dishes at once. Power meets convenience in this range.

Key Features

  • Powerful, Precise Heat
  • Reversible Griddle and Wok Grate
  • Largest Capacity Oven
  • True Convection System
  • Step-By-Step Cooking Guide

Powerful, Precise Heat
Samsung designed this range with an incredible five-burner cooktop for ultimate functionality. The cooktop features one, 18K dual power burner with two independent heating elements. This burner’s power ranges from 700 to 18,000 BTU, so you can melt chocolate slowly or bring a pot of water to a rolling boil quickly and get to the dinner table faster. Plus, the cooktop features a large, oval burner in the centre, which is perfect for oversized pots and pans or “bridge" cooking.

Reversible Griddle and Wok Grate
Choose a smooth or ridged surface and enjoy the benefits of healthy grilling and searing on your reversible griddle directly on this gas cooktop. When you use this handy accessory, your food won’t just taste great, it will look fantastic too. Or, attach the specially designed wok grate and cook stir-fry from a traditional wok safely and more efficiently. The wok grate’s circular design fits snugly around the burner, so your wok will be kept stable and won’t accidentally tip over. The grate ensures your wok is heated quickly and evenly, so your family’s favourite stir-fry recipe will taste better than ever. What’s more, with this cooktop’s endless rail grate, you can slide your pots and pans across the surface with ease instead of struggling to lift them.

Largest Capacity Oven
This Samsung range has the largest capacity oven on the market at 5.8 cu. ft. With three oven racks – two wire and one gliding – you can cook multiple dishes at once for easy family dinners and entertaining. Or, remove two of the racks and cook a giant holiday roast or turkey without worrying about whether it will fit. And, when parts of the meal are done, keep them hot in the warming drawer until everyone is ready to eat.

True Convection System
For thorough cooking and tasty results, a true convection system – like the one built into this fantastic range – is the best choice for busy families and foodies alike. Using a heated fan, warm air is distributed all around the oven so the temperature remains consistent from the back to the front and the bottom to the top. Great for baking and broiling, convection ovens cook food faster and more evenly.

Step-By-Step Cooking Guide
Let Samsung’s digital dashboard be your sous chef as you prepare everything from chewy chocolate chip cookies to delicate cheese soufflés. Using this intuitive technology, you can control temperature and time settings by programming recipes, selecting cooking functions and choosing cleaning settings. The dashboard will illuminate each step along the way, so you won’t have to worry about losing the user manual. What’s more, Samsung’s perfect cooking probe checks on internal food temperature for you, so you don’t have to continually open the oven door and poke your dish mid-cook. The probe will tell you when your dish reaches the desired temperature, taking the guesswork out of cooking meat and ensuring food is safe to eat.

We've had our range installed and have been using it daily for just over a week. So I'll start my review by letting you know that it is still rather new to us. I narrowed down my choices to this range because it had all of the features I wanted in the price point. The top of my list, just after 5 burners and large oven capacity was self-cleaning. I was disappointed to learn that nearly ALL of the competitors that offer the "self-cleaning" features have moved away from the pyrolytic method of self-cleaning to a "steam" cleaning/low temperature method (translation: the residue doesn't burn off - you still have to scrub afterward based on reading dozens upon dozens of reviews by unhappy owners of those ranges). Less important was having convection - but this range had it also! It does seem to shorten overall cooking time when it's used. I'm pleased that I can choose to use it or just bake/roast without the convection fan running. (With all of the places we need to be after dinner, anything that can shorten our prep-time is worth trying. Moving from electric to gas I can say everything is taking much less time to prepare than before on top of the range and in the oven.) We were converting from electric to propane, so not only is this range new to me but having a gas range is new to me as well. The most serious downside I've found, and I don't find it very serious at all, is that the vent at the top of the range does throw out a good deal of heat when the oven is running. It was mentioned as a negative in a lot of reviews I read but it was the only drawback I read about that I took seriously. Yes, you will want to keep your hand away from the vent especially when you exceed 375 degrees with this oven and consider what you have atop the stove during operating the oven. But seeing as its a range, you should be exercising this kind of precaution anyway. One think you might want to consider given the above is shopping just as carefully for whatever you have above your range, be it a microwave oven or a vent to make sure it will move air quickly enough to usher heat and steam up and out. (We also looked to Samsung for a microwave and found one with a 4 speed exhaust fan. My top consideration in a microwave was how it would function as a hood with exhaust and light. I will review that separately.) The burner configuration and size options are great. I did not buy this range for the griddle but I have to say I've found a use for it at just about every meal, whether it is to toast buns, fry eggs with no added fat, sear tuna steaks, or toast herbs or nuts, I'm finding that it's a convenience that I'll soon not want to live without. The non-stick works beautifully and it cleans easily. (Please educate yourself on how to care for non-stick surfaces for happy results! I've banned cooking sprays...) The controls are convenient and easy to figure out. The range looks great overall. Oh! And one of the best parts - the capacity! I can fit four of my sheet pans (10 x 151/2 x 1) in this oven or four standard muffin pans. I've never before had an oven that allowed them to fit side-by-side on one rack. This one is going to make holiday baking a breeze. (The storage compartment is rather small, but I'll give up some space there for this happy surprise.) Some reviewers complain of a smell that persists after the initial burn off of factory residue. I am not experiencing that problem at all. (It took only about 2 hours of use to not notice the initial odor any longer.) Lastly, there is a control lock option and an alarm will sound when the door is opened. We liked this feature because we have small children. While it won't prevent them from opening you'll get some warning that they're messing with the oven, which is better than most. All-in-all I'm very happy with this purchase and though I haven't used the pyrolytic self-cleaning feature yet, I don't anticipate any problems. (I hope I can update this review once I've used all of the features including bread proofing and self-cleaning.)

By using more than one burner at a time, it changes my prefered temperature settings making it impossible to cook using more that one or two pans at a time. Great for boiling water. That's about it. too many error codes that incapacitates the stove, happens often during long and multiple use such as on holidays or cooking for company! I've only had it for two years and now it's broken to the point that a very expensive repair is being arranged by Samsung so instead of having it repaired happly I am junking this appliance and happily buying an old trusted brand.

Everything works right. I did the conversion from natural gas to LP which was a bit of a pain, but that is the way all stoves come these days. It works well and I've noticed a significant reduction in the baking time, shaving at least 10 minutes. Time will tell regarding durability and longevity, but for now, we are very satisfied with this stove.

I have only had this range for a few weeks but it does everything that I wanted in a stove. I didn't choose a stove with a warming drawer but I have used it and like this option. The 5th burner is a plus also.

          My First Gas Range

I'm in my 70's and this is my very first gas range. Always has electric, and always wanted gas. (Don't ask!) I am delighted with this range., so far. Have only had it installed for a few weeks, but everything is great. My only wish is that it had a storage drawer instead of a warming drawer below the oven. I have no place to store my pans, and that's becoming an issue. As for the range, it cooks great, the oven is super, both convection and regular, and even the instructions for installation were good.

Unfortunately replaced most of my kitchen appliances w/ Samsung Stainless Steel. Had gas previously. This oven overheats so have to adjust shelves and cooking time to prevent food from burning. SS is very poor quality. Salt scratched it the first time I tried to clean the range top. The cast iron (?) burner caps stain very easily. The closest to clean I've gotten them is with a magic eraser. Also the "cast iron ?" is chipping off the large center burner cap. Not even had it a year.

Overall I think the oven styling is good. Could use some work on the oven lock (as noted in other reviews). Also the filler piece to cover if you are replacing freestanding range could have a piece available to order if no back splash in your range opening. I spent hours trying to find somewhere to custom make a piece, so the range looked finished.
