The Brick is Canada’s largest furniture, mattress, appliance and electronics retailer.

Founded in 1971 in the heart of Edmonton, Alberta, The Brick proudly remains 100% Canadian owned. We are helmed by parent company Leon’s Furniture Ltd and publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange as “LNF”.

Customers can shop coast to coast, with over 210 locations and seven distribution centres nationwide. The first franchise location of The Brick opened in 1999 in Hinton, Alberta. Since then, the franchise network has grown to over 67 stores in rural markets across Canada.

The Brick’s marketing consists of best-in-class creative production, brand strategies and e-commerce growth. Our marketing department of talented team members works hard each day to relay information about The Brick to the public through a variety of mediums.

We also provide tools and resources to help ensure there is consistency between promotions or marketing campaigns and our in-store customer experience. Plus, The Brick can work with franchisees to provide social media strategy and guidance, to aid in creating market or store specific digital advertising to maximize reach (including Google Ad-words, YouTube, Facebook and Display advertising).

The Brick Franchise Sofalab

When our stores are designed well, customers take notice. At The Brick, we have several merchandising strategies in place to ensure our stores function at their best.

We implement custom floor plans that are drawn and laid out to maximize dollars per square foot. Product displayed in the showroom is planned for and cored by the buying and corporate support team, ensuring the franchisee has the best product assortment for each specific market. In addition, The Brick supplies a professionally created merchandising playbook available to all franchisees to ensure they have the necessary resources to enhance product appearance and increase sales.

Branding and building requirements such as flooring, paint colours, lighting details and more are provided to our franchise locations so store displays look consistent and appealing. Specialty signage and specific direction regarding display standards are also provided.

With multiple finance terms available, we are able to provide flexible payment solutions for our customers. Featuring benefits such as 0% interest financing with non-retroactive interest, a digital and paperless application process with quick approval, and online support during retail hours, our financing process is second to none.

Flexiti, The Brick’s trusted financing partner, has been recognized as one of Canada’s top companies for both technology and growth. Our franchisees benefit from annual volume rebates given on financed sales. In addition, the online payment tool was launched to promote incremental sales.

Fleet and Distribution

The Brick Distribution Centre

With over four million square feet of warehousing space from coast to coast across seven distribution centres, The Brick is well equipped to serve customers nationwide.

We offer a flexible inventory model for our franchisees, allowing them to house product in The Brick’s distribution centres until the customer needs product. There is a Clear Destination Delivery Management System in place which gives total visibility and control over deliveries, allowing our franchisees to streamline costs and provide up to the minute delivery status.

To make our delivery service safe and reliable, we also have Geo Tab vehicle tracking that provides real-time GPS tracking of franchisee fleet vehicles, along with visibility on transfer truck cubes to ensure all available space is utilized. Geographical zoning is also established for each franchise market, securing profitability and market share.

Support and Training

The Brick Franchise Sofalab

When we provide our franchisees with the proper support and training, it makes for a stronger company overall. Our franchise regional team is in place to support you with regular conference calls, store visits, training calls, and day-to-day questions and support.

Brick University, our unique training platform, supplies our team members with training modules supplemented with videos and courses developed by The Brick, which are updated frequently. With over 5000 free Udemy training courses available to all, access to learning is made easy.
