The Brick’s BHomeFree Contest(the “Contest”)
June 1 – 30, 2021
This Contest shall be conducted on-line by The Brick Warehouse LP (“The Brick”) for customers to enter. A customer is
referred to as “You and “Your”.
The contest runs from June 1, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. – June 30, 2021 at 9:00 p.m. EST. (“Contest Period”)
Requirement to enter contest:
You must pay residential rent to an “arm’s length landlord” or mortgage (subject to the verification procedure
outlined in point 6 below).
Ways to enter:
If You finalize a sale of product purchased at The Brick during the Contest Period, using any payment method, You will
be automatically entered to win the Grand Prize on the Draw Date
No purchase necessary method of entry:
You must visit www.thebrick.com/homefreecontest during the Contest Period and submit an entry form (“Entry” or “Entry
Form”) by completing a ballot with the information requested. You must verify at the time of entry whether or not You
pay residential mortgage or rent by checking off the appropriate confirmation box on the Entry; the appropriate box must
be checked to be considered a valid Entry.
Limit of one (1) entry per family, per day. For this purpose, “family” means all persons, whether related or not,
living in the same household. The use of any device to automate the entry process is prohibited. Any attempt to
manipulate the Contest will result in You being disqualified.
“Draw Date” will be Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 am (MST).
2. GRAND PRIZE
ONE YEAR OF FREE RENT OR MORTGAGE (*to a maximum of $2,000 per month), maximum value of $24,000, paid to the winner in
full by cheque after verification of monthly residential rent or mortgage confirmed.
For further clarity, if you pay $1,200 per month in rent or mortgage payments, you will be compensated $1,200 per
month ($14,400 total).
The contest is open to all residents of Quebec who have reached the age of majority on or before Draw Date except
employees, representatives and agents of The Brick, and all people employed as contractors or sub-contractors by The
Brick, and their immediate family members living in the same household
Participants agree to abide by the Rules as set out herein, subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws. It
is a condition of eligibility that the winner authorizes The Brick to announce and publish his/her name, address and
photograph, without remuneration or consideration, in any forthcoming publicity.
4. GRAND PRIZE ODDS
Odds of winning depend on the cumulative number of Entry forms received; odds decrease as the number of entry forms
5. GRAND PRIZE DRAW PROCEDURES
On July 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. MST, representative from The Brick’s corporate office in Edmonton, Alberta will draw and
record three (3) Entry forms from the combined automatic entries and website entries to obtain one (1) winner (“Eligible
Winner”). The additional two (2) Entries drawn are back up Entry forms in the event the initial Eligible Winner is
non-responsive after contact, fails to comply with the contest rules, or is unable to complete the skill testing
question, and those names will be recorded in the order they were drawn (“Alternate Winner(s)”).
A representative from the corporate office will use his/her reasonable efforts to contact the Eligible Winner by phone
or e-mail after the Draw Date. If the Eligible Winner cannot be reached by telephone or has not contacted The Brick
within five (5) days of The Brick leaving messages to do so (“Contact Date”), then that person will be disqualified and
The Brick shall proceed to contact the next Alternate Winner.
6. DECLARING THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER / VERIFICATION PROCESS
An Eligible Winner whose name has been selected on the Draw Date must: If renting:
i) Be over the age of majority in Quebec;
ii) Be able to prove they are currently renting a residence from an arm’s length landlord, to be confirmed to the
satisfaction of The Brick in its sole discretion;
iii) Provide proof of rental agreement and rental amount;
i) Be over the age of majority in Quebec;
ii) Have a mortgage with a:
a. Schedule 1 bank;
b. CMHC Mortgage; or
c. An arm’s length mortgage under terms, rates and conditions comparable to (a) or (b) above in The Brick’s sole
iii) The Brick reserves the right to evaluate and quantify the mortgage based on reasonable terms and rates subject to
6(ii)(a), (b) or (c) above.
Within ten (10) business days following the Contact Date, correctly answer a time-limited, arithmetical skill-testing
question without the assistance of any person or mechanical/recording device(s). The skill-testing process shall be
administered at a pre-arranged time and place;
Execute a declaration and release form confirming compliance with the Official Contest Rules and acceptance of the
Should the Eligible Winner fail to answer the skill-testing question correctly or is unable to attend at the time and
place designated by The Brick for the administration of same, that Eligible Winner shall be disqualified and the
skill-testing question shall be administered to the next Alternate Winner.
By accepting the Grand Prize the winner agrees to The Brick’s use of their names, city, province or territory of
residence and/or photograph for advertising and publicity purposes without compensation.
7. ADDITIONAL TERMS
By participating, You agree that: a) these Official Contest Rules, the decisions and The Brick’s records of the draw or
any other aspect of this contest shall be final and conclusive in all respects; and b) release, discharge, indemnify and
hold harmless The Brick, its affiliated and related enterprises and their trustees, directors, officers, assigns, and
their employees, representatives, advertising and other agents from any liability, claims, damages, demands, actions, or
causes of action whatsoever which they, their heirs, successors, assigns, executors, or administrators may now or
hereafter have directly or indirectly against them or any of them in respect of or relating to the Contest and/or the
acceptance or use, misuse, or possession of any prize.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The Brick shall not be responsible for print or typographical errors in any Contest-related materials; for transactions
that are posted late or incorrectly or are lost due to computer or electronic malfunction. The Brick reserves the right
to amend or vary the Official Contest Rules, including the imposition or addition of new rules which are deemed by The
Brick in its sole discretion necessary for business efficacy.
The Brick will use the contact information provided in contest entries for administration of this Contest and/or to
ascertain Your needs and market to You. We may communicate with You for any of these purposes by telephone, fax, text
messaging, or other electronic means, and automatic dialing-announcing device, at the numbers You have provided us, or
by internet, mail, email and other methods. By entering this Contest, You acknowledge and agree to give permission to

For Québec Residents Only: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be
submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the
awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
The Brick’s records of the draw or any other aspect of this Contest shall be final and conclusive for all purposes
relating to this Contest.
